Back to Business

Its been a while since any movement has occurred (pardon the pun). The contact at STP was on holiday until the 20th of this month and to date he has not got back to me with regards to purchasing one off STP1-11 to trial.

As a result a movement decision must be made and as the 2824-2 cannot be justified from a cost point of view currently, the Miyota 9015 is more than an adequate alternative. It is a similar specification to both the STP1-11 and ETA 2824-2. More information about the movement can be found on the link below.

Its comes down to two movements…

The Miyota 9015 VS The STP 1-11

Both mechanical, automatic and quality movements that are respected by the industry.

The Miyota is a Japanese made and has 24 jewels. It has an accuracy of between 10- 30 seconds per day and a running time of more than 42 hours.

The STP 1-11 is a Swiss made and has 26 jewels. It also has an accuracy of between 10- 30 seconds per day and a running time of more than 44 hours.

The winner is the STP 1-11!

It may prove difficult to source this movement and so the Miyota 9015 will be a suitable alternative.

The final form has to be perfect because once it has been confirmed, it cannot be changed. Due to the crucial and shear importance of this decision, it will not be rust and will take as long as it needs to.

If you have any suggestions or contributions they wish to make, they are welcome.
